We have been doing some research to see if we could make a version for Apple computers. Initial test have been positive and hopefully the first Apple version Roster2iCal will be available early next year.

Download your roster automatically (easyJet)

From version 2.1 it is possible to install add-ons. The first add-on available is the easyJet add-on to download your roster automatically.

When you download the add-on, simply unzip it and put it in the same folder as Roster2Outlook. When you start the program you see a new button "Download roster from e-Crew". When you click this a download window will pop-up and Roster2Outlook will try to download your roster automatically. You will need to enter your login (secure\000000) and password and also you AIMS pin number. Those login details will be stored on your computer encrypted.

IMPORTANT When you have changes on your roster, those changes will be downloaded and you will be informed by Roster2Outlook and Outlook that you have changes. However, those changes are NOT acknowledged to crewing.

Please let us know any problems or suggestions you have regarding this add-on. The best way to do this is to use the forum on this website.

New Version Coming Soon

To address the problems with non-English Outlook versions I'm working on a new version. The new version will use different techniques to determine if there is already an appointment on a specific day in your calendar, so you can still choose to replace the appointments when importing a new roster. However, I have not yet found a solution for the problem with the categories for the non-English Outlook versions. This seems to be a problem in Outlook itself. I'll keep looking for a solution though.

The other major change will be an add-on (initially only for easyJet crew) to import their roster into Outlook without having to download the roster first. The program will go to the website and grab the roster from the internet and import it into Outlook all with the click of one button. This feature is still under development, but the tests I'm running are looking very good. At the moment the program is already able to grab the roster from the internet. Now I have to make the user interfaces to work with this add-on. Hopefully when it all works, I'll be able to make add-ons for other airlines too. However, I'll need to have information on how the crew of those airlines access their rosters to see how I can automate this action.

There is only a small problem, at the moment my computer is broken. I'm in the process of getting a new one. So hopefully this is only a temporarily problem. When I do get my new computer, I’ll try to get working on the new version as soon as possible. So have a look on this website for more news within the next few months.

Version 2.1 available for download

It took a little bit longer than expected, but finally version 2.1 is available for download!

This version has some major changes over the previous version. First of all, it now uses this website to check for updates. When an update is available you will be notified by the program and directed to the website. You can then download the new version from this website. Why this change? Mainly because we could not longer use the old server space. So we had to move everything to a new server anyway. So we set up this website and will use it to make all future downloads available. We choose to make the downloads available for registered people only so we can have a better idea who is using Roster2Outlook. Don't worry, nothing will be done with your information. Registration is free and easy, but as we currently experience some problems with our e-mail can unfortunately take some time. See the article about the e-mail problems for more information.

Also in this version it is possible for easyJet crew to install an add-on that will download your roster automatically. You can find the add-on in the download section. For more info about this add-on read the article about it on the homepage.

The last visible change is the TimeShift feature. From this version you will be able to export your roster in any time zone you want. Simply select the desired time zone before you press export and all times will be changed to the selected time zone. This feature is intended for European based crew who want their roster in local time, but can be used by anyone who wants their roster in a different time zone.

This version no longer contains a help file, as the intentions are to have the help file online on this website. Hopefully this will be available early next year.

Enjoy the new version and if you have any problems or suggestions, please let us know. The best way is to use the forum on this website.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Donate to support Roster2Outlook

Roster2Outlook is and hopefully can remain Freeware! That means you can download and use the software without paying for it with full functionality. However, I do all this in my spare time and it takes a lot of time to write the code to make Roster2Outlook work, test it and make changes when bugs are discovered to improve the program. To maintain and improve this website and try to answer your questions and suggestions as good as I can also takes time.

Therefore, if you find using Roster2Outlook useful, you are invited to make a donation to support the development of the software and this website. It is up to you how much you donate. If you can only spare £1 to help keep the project going, that's great! If you donate £10, that's great too! No contribution is too small and no contribution is too big. Every one is equally welcome, and every contribution goes completely towards supporting Roster2Outlook.

I have chosen PayPal to accept donations. PayPal is one of the more reputable online payment services. It takes a tiny fee from each donation received, after you send it, but before we receive it. It charges you nothing at all. PayPal takes your donation from your credit card and puts it into the PayPal account that has been set up for this purpose. It all happens securely, online, without having to step away from your computer.

What if you can't or don't want to make a donation? No problem at all. Enjoy the software and the website anyway. I'll try to keep it free, and you will get the same support from me.

Don't forget to spread the word, and tell all your friends and colleagues about Roster2Outlook!
